Abstract requirements

The congress will be consists of 12 sections:

 1. biomedical sciences;
 2. therapy;
 3. surgery;
 4. obstetrics and gynaecology;
 5. pediatrics and neonatology;
 6. medical genetics;
 7. neurosurgery;
 8. traumatology and orthopaedics;
 9. infectious diseases;
 10. neurosciences;
 11. dentistry;
 12. hygiene and social medicine.


Your abstracts function is to show that you have a valuable contribution to the congress by presenting your abstract and to lure an audience to your talk.

Hereby, we will give you some guidelines to achieve this goal as best as possible. For the ISIC you should use the following subheadings:
- introduction;
- material and methods;
- results;
- conclusion.


1. Introduction
Background information: give the information that is useful for introducing you research. This background information must make clear to the reader why you are asking your research question.
The research question: State the question either as a question or as a hypothesis. Use key terms that will re-appear in the answer to the question in your conclusion.

2. Material and Methods
Name the material studied (molecule, cell line, tissue, organ) and the organism from which it came, or name the animal or human population studied. If necessary, include the condition of the animals or subjects, such as anesthetized.State the experimental approach or the study design, including both independent and dependent variables.

3. Results
Name the material studied (molecule, cell line, tissue organ) and the organism from which it came, or name the animal or human population studied. If necessary, include the condition of the animals or subjects, such as anesthesized.

4. The conclusion

 

The answer: State the question to your research question. Be sure that the answer answers the question you asked.

Discussion: Only if important for your research, state some conditions that could have influenced your data. Keep it as short as possible.

Implication: It is of great importance to state the clinical implication of your research in your abstract. Include a sentence stating the implication, speculation or recommandation at the and of your abstract.

Word count
Your abstract should not exceed the maximum of 400 words.

Guidelines for submitting abstracts

The following devices should be considered:
- only abstracts submitted in English will be reviewed;
- abstracts must contain no more than 3000 characters;
- abstracts must include the names of the author, co-authors, mentor and the institution;
- abstracts should contain a heading, aim, method, results and conclusion;
- abstract must not contain tables, graphics or pictures;
- if you use abbreviations make use of standard ones.
